Here's a scan of the Pony Express key

As you can see, it was from Lake Tahoe. If I can jump on this thread and share my thoughts about this key, I find this one very interesting as the arrow at one end indicates it was the room key and the other end was the foyer key. The entire back of the key appears to be a big mag stripe. I'm certain others can give you a better idea of the rarity and value, but I have only seen this key for sale twice - once on eBay, the second time when I acquired this from a friend. I acquired the key for $100 and felt that it was a good buy at the time (I offered $100 and it was accepted) as the eBay sale was for over $100. It was a lot for me to offer for the key but I believed that I might not see one again for a long time...and I was right. If I didn't have one in my collection and saw it offered for $100, I would not hesitate to buy it. Since I already have one, I would not pay $100 to add it to my traders and would likely look to pay less if a variation of the key appeared.

Although I'm aware of one Harrah's Reno key variation with a complete mag stripe back, it doesn't have different uses indicated for the opposite ends of the key. I don't know if it worked inserted in either direction grin

I hope this information is of some help.
