Reno Report

Was in Reno/Lake Tahoe this weekend, I didn't realize it was Hot August Nights and ran into huge crowds, yikes.

If you go to the Sands Regency, be sure to ask for an extra card. The first card is on regular stock, the duplicate is on the Millenium 2000 stock. Silver Legacy ran out of their green cards and are using the original silver and burgundy. (Too bad, I don't have the green one, already have the silver). Found a Millenium Countdown card in Fitzgeralds on the floor. They are issuing their regular green card, the silver Millenium must have been temporary. Cal-Neva-Virginian has a new club. The new Sienna has a 2001 Grand Opening card.

If in Carson City, only 20 minutes south of Reno, be sure to stop in the Cactus Jack's Club. They really have a card, but they don't use scan devices on the machines. They give points by the time you spend in the club. You check in and out at the registration desk. Very friendly staff. They asked if I was local or visiting, it really doesn't matter to get the card.

Carson City Nugget has a card, but Carson Station does not.

Lake Tahoe still has five cards, Horizon, Caesars, Bills, Harrahs, and Harveys. The Harveys staff says the change over to Harrahs will occur in January. They won't give up Elite or Platinum blanks even though they are changing. They said they still have to operate under current rules at least until January. I wonder if they'll pass out blanks when their club closes...Hummmm
