I'm inquiring on behalf of a Las Vegas Advisor reader who has a bundle of old players cards and room keys and is wondering what they're worth, if anything. I'll direct him to this site for specific questions, but I'd like to do a piece for the LVA Web site and know practically nothing about this subject. If anyone has time to help me with some basic questions, I'd be most grateful:

a) When did the trend for collecting players cards get going, ditto room keys?

b) What makes a card particularly sought-after? (I'm sure those from defunct properties are, but are there any other factors and are some properties more collectible than others?)

c) What price range to they tend to fetch, from the bottom of the scale to the highest figures ever reached (and what were these for?)

d) Where is the best place to trade them? This site, eBay, conventions or ???
